Meet Our Team
To support those who attend the Shed we have three part time employees and a team of trained volunteers Session Supervisors.
All members of the team are personable, inclusive, encouraging practitioners who are experienced in working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
We also have lots of other fabulous volunteers including Mark, Andrew, Jamie, Andy, Steven, Warmsley and (another) Pete. These support the Shed as Session Supervisors and have all been trained in the use of the equipment and running a safe workshop. We run a blended model of delivery with some part-time paid staff working alongside our volunteer team.
We are grateful to have a wonderful group of Trustees who bring lots of experience alongside specialist skills to support the Charity.
Pete

Pete is the Project Manager and former design and technology teacher. The idea to create the workshop from a derelict scout building came from Pete and Graeme. Their vision could not have been realised without the support and hard graft of many supporters and volunteers. Pete is one of the Shed Trustees.
Graeme

Graeme is a volunteer Session Supervisor and also a former design and technology teacher. Graeme has been part of the shed from the very beginning and is also a Shed Trustee.
Richard

Richard is a Workshop Instructor, supporting students from Southway School. Richard has worked here since the Shed opened in 2022 and is a former design and technology teacher.
Nigel

Nigel is our Workshop Instructor on Tuesdays for Lighthouse School and the afternoon drop-in session. Again, Nigel is a former design and technology teacher (last one I promise!) with lots of experience.
Jonathan

Jonathan is Chair of the Trustees and is also the vicar at St James Church, Woodside, who own the Shed building and fully support the project. In a former life Jonathan was a chartered engineer so has a lot of knowledge and experience in everything!
Mel

Mel is another member of our staff team who works part-time keeping on top of the administration and helping us to secure grant funding.
Paula

Paula is a Workshop Instructor on Friday afternoons supporting Lighthouse West Yorkshire, a Charity that works with those “battered and bruised by the storms of life”.

Latest Updates
We are grateful to our trustees , all volunteers, who are responsible for leading and managing the charity. With expertise in various fields they all are fully supportive of the Shed making decisions that impact the charity's direction, resources, policies, and legal compliance.
