We have a well-equipped workshop to facilitate woodworking activities and a social area for refreshments. We seek to serve the needs of the community by reducing social isolation and supporting vulnerable people. Initially, we intend to engage with those already known to us locally. We are starting to deliver a weekly session for those known to us through Lighthouse Community and St George’s Crypt, individuals who are on the chaotic margins of society. Our next priority is to provide support for older people struggling with social isolation or anxiety. By the New Year we hope to engage with some vulnerable young people already in contact with us.
Regard for Safeguarding and Health and Safety are a top priority and all staff, whether paid or volunteers, have been checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service. We have a Health and Safety Policy and do risk assessments against each activity we undertake.
